The Siddharth Anand-directed film Pathaan, starring Shah Rukh Khan, Deepika Padukone, and John Abraham, is smashing box office records. The second week got off to a promising start with the movie dropping by only about 10% from the day before. With a clear increase of more than 60% from Friday, the movie has seen an extraordinary increase on its second Saturday, and this is coming from a level that was already high. Early estimates suggest that the movie will comfortably gross above Rs. 20 crore net on the second Saturday, with estimates of between Rs. 22.5 and Rs. 24 crore net. The movie will surpass Dangal, the previous highest-grossing Hindi movie, as a result.

From the moment it released in theatres, Pathaan set records. The movie had the biggest opening for a Hindi version movie ever, and it did so on a non-holiday. On its second day, it once more set a record for the highest single-day Hindi film box office revenues. Without counting the dubbed versions, it made over Rs. 271 cr nett in its first five days, and by the conclusion of its first extended week, it had over Rs. 350 cr nett.

The movie will surpass Rs. 400 cr nett on Sunday, which is its twelfth ticketing day, becoming the only other Hindi-language movie after Baahubali 2 and KGF: Chapter 2 to do so. It will eventually overtake KGF: Chapter 2 and is in a strong position to surpass Baahubali 2's Hindi nett.

In terms of global box office, the movie will pass the Rs 800 crore mark today and is on track to reach Rs 1000 crores over the course of its whole run.
