Shah Rukh Khan is set to end his four year hiatus from being on the big screen with the release of the highly-anticipated Pathaan. The latest reports suggest that the movie has sold its OTT rights for a massive price.

According to a report by Koimoi, the OTT rights to Shah Rukh Khan’s Pathaan have been sold to Amazon Prime Video for a whopping Rs. 200 crore. While there are no official announcements from the makers to back the claim, this would make Pathaan one of biggest earners from OTT.

The movie, which is backed by Yash Raj Film’s was announced back in March and the first glimpse of the actor set social media on fire. The team has also been filming the project outside India in Spain. Leaked photos from the set were also a big hit with the fans, once again confirming the movie’s status among the actor’s massive fanbase.

While Shah Rukh Khan returns after a long gap, the movie also stars Deepika Padukone and John Abraham, and a reported cameo from Salman Khan. Pathan is the fourth instalment in YRF’s spy universe. Ek Tha Tiger (2012), Tiger Zinda Hai (2017) and War (2019) are the other movies. While the first two stars Salman Khan as Avinash Singh Rathore/Tiger, the last movie featured both Hrithik Roshan and Tiger Shroff.

Directed by Siddharth Anand, the movie is slated for a theatrical release in January of 2023. Shah Rukh Khan was last seen in Anand L Rai’s Zero, which came out in 2018.

Khan is also currently working on a yet to be titled project directed by fan-favourite Tamil director, Atlee. The movie also stars Nayanthara in the lead.
