Pathaan success event: Deepika Padukone cries tears of joy as she describes how "wonderful" it felt to hear of the film's huge success

At a triumphant gathering for the Shah Rukh Khan-starring film in Mumbai on Monday, Deepika Padukone broke down in tears as she spoke about the huge box office phenomenon that Pathaan has become. Deepika, SRK, John Abraham, and Pathaan's director, Siddharth Anand, all went to the film's success ceremony because the movie has done so well at the box office around the world, making Rs 542 crore in just five days.

Deepika paid a visit to Mumbai's renowned Gaiety Galaxy theatre on Sunday. She masked herself, though, by donning a black sweatshirt and a black mask that covered her face. The emcee of the event questioned the performer about her feelings when she went to the theatre to see how the audience responded to Pathaan.

An emotional Deepika responded to this while wiping delighted tears from her eyes, saying, "It felt amazing. We had been doing indoor screening for days, but finally I got a chance to get outside. I wanted to go on the day of the film's release, but that could not happen. To experience this kind of love, especially when what the world has been through, the fact that a movie like this that can bring people together, that it can bring so much joy and celebration that it almost feels like a festival."

She went on by saying, "When you work honestly and with integrity, you put your head down and just keep going. Then when you see this love and appreciation and get rewarded like this, then it all seems worth it."

Speaking about her chemistry with Shah Rukh at the time, Deepika stated, "In all the films that we have worked on, we have a very good relationship, which reflects on screen. There is a lot of respect between us."

Pathaan has gotten a huge response from viewers, and SRK fans around the world were thrilled to see him back in his film after four years. On its first day, the film also entered the Rs 100 crore club.
