Pathirathri is an upcoming Malayalam film starring actors Navya Nair and Soubin Shahir in the lead roles. The makers have now unveiled the first-look poster of the upcoming Malayalam film, helmed by Ratheena of Puzhu fame. The team has also confirmed that the film will hit theatres in October 2025, though they have not specified an exact release date

Actors Navya Nair and Soubin Shahir appear as cops in the first-look of Pathirathri, which was released by the team on Thursday. Actor Sunny Wayne and Ann Augustine are also seen in the poster, though they appear in civilian clothes. All four have a tense look on their face, hinting that a gritty film is on the cards. A police jeep is also seen in the poster. Shabareesh Varma and Harisree Ashokan, who was recently in Kerala Crime Files Season 2, are also in the cast.
Earlier reports said that Pathirathri (meaning midnight) is inspired from true events and would be set in Idukki. The film’s plot is said to revolve around two cops.
Pathirathri marks the second film of Ratheena, who made her directorial debut with the Mammootty-starrer Puzhu, which went on to win critical acclaim. Pathirathri has music by Jakes Bejoy, who is currently basking in the success of his latest film, Lokah Chapter 1 Chandra.
Shaji Maraad, who co-wrote another cop drama Ela Veezha Poonchira, has penned the script for Pathirathri. Notably, Soubin played the lead role in Ela Veezha Poonchira as well, which was helmed by Shahi Kabeer.
Soubin was last seen in the Tamil film Coolie, starring Rajinikanth and helmed by Lokesh Kangaraj. Soubin’s dance steps from the Monica song had gone viral. His last Malayalam release was Machante Maalakha with Namitha Pramod. Navya Nair, on the other hand, was last seen in the 2023 film Janaki Jaane.
