Actor and scriptwriter Dinoy Paulose is once again set to roll out the laughter with his next script Pathrosinte Padappukal, which is directed by debutant Afsal Abdul Latheef. The comedy entertainer, which marks Dinoy’s next script after the superhit Thaneer Mathan Dinangal, also has him playing the lead actor.
Much like Thaneer Mathan Dinangal, this film too has brilliant supporting cast lead by Sharafudheen, Ranjitha Menon, Suresh Krishna, Naslen, James Eliya, Shabareesh Varma, Grace Antony, Johny Antony, Shammi Thilakan and Shiny Zara. The film’s music is by Jakes Bejoy and Jayesh Mohan cranks the camera.
What is the story of Pathrosinte Padappukal?
The movie revolves around Pathrose (James Eliya) and his family. Sharafudheen plays his eldest son, who is a vagabond, while Dinoy’s character Tony, who is the protagonist, is an indolent youth. The life of the family undergoes a sea change when their grandmother decides to live with them.
Dinoy in an exclusive interview with OTTplay had told us that the movie is an eccentric comedy like Jayasurya’s Pulival Kalyanam and Mohanlal’s Pattanapravesham with a sequence of slapstick elements. He also described his character as being over-the-top. Sharafudheen and Grace Antony’s characters too are much different from the roles they have played so far.
Dinoy, who has also scripted the film, told us that he has ensured that even minor characters in the movie contribute to the progress of the plot. The actor also said that like Thaneer Mathan Dinangal, the movie too has elements that will ensure that the audience can enjoy it even when they watch the film for the second and third time.
When and where to watch Pathrosinte Padappukal?
The movie is set to hit theatres on March 18. The OTT release of the film is yet to be confirmed. It is expected to drop on digital platforms by May first week.
