Silambarasan TR fans have a reason to cheer. After a long hiatus, the team of the actor's upcoming film Pathu Thala, is all set to roll out its announcement about the first single from the film tomorrow. The film's producers Studio Green shared the same on its social media handle, "You asked and we've heard you! Gear up for the #PathuThalaFirstSingle announcement arriving tomorrow @ 5.04PM! #PathuThala #Atman #SilambarasanTR #AGR #PathuThalaFromMarch30 (sic)." The film has music by AR Rahman and the audio rights have been bagged by Sony Music South.

Pathu Thala is the Tamil remake of the Kannada hit Mufti (2017), which stars Shiva Rajkumar, Srimurali and Shanvi Srivatsava in the lead. The film marked the debut of director Narthan and Mufti went on to become a huge hit in the Kannada film industry. The plot revolves around a cat and mouse game between a police officer and a dreaded gangster. The film is now being remade in Tamil by director Obeli N Krishna. The star cast includes Silambarasan TR, Gautham Karthik and Priya Bhavani Shankar. AR Rahman and Krishna are collaborating after a long hiatus. The last time they had worked together was in Sillunu Oru Kaadhal (2006). The film is all set to hit screens on March 30 and the announcement of the same was made on New Year.

The shoot of the film was put on hold as Silambarasan had to head to the US for the medical treatment of his father, T Rajendar. The senior actor, director and producer is hale and hearty now. He had even come up with a single titled Vande Maatharam on the occasion of India's Republic Day (January 26). In the meantime, there is a buzz that Silambarasan might be seen in Thalapathy67 and that he will play a baddie in it. Interestingly, Silambarasan had sung the single Thee Thalapathy in Vijay's Varisu, which went on to become a chartbuster.
