The trailer of Silambarasan TR's film Pathu Thala was released last evening amid a gala event in Chennai. The film, directed by Obeli Krishna, has Silambarasan TR, Gautham Karthik, Gautham Menon and Priya Bhavani Shankar as part of the star cast. The action-packed trailer in which Silambarasan's character AGR, a dreaded gangster is seen on a rampage as he takes down his enemies one after the other, seems to have won over his fans. Many have called the trailer a 'Silambarasan sambavam'.
A social media user wrote, "Am late guys to share but this trailer is damn damn LIT Next 100cr club sureshot, @SilambarasanTR_looking superb and his dialogues. Thalaivan varaan.. #PathuThala (sic)."
A fan wrote,"It's #STR time Hope this will be Hattric Hit after Maanadu & VTK.ThalivARR @arrahman (sic)."
It is to be noted that Silambarasan had earlier stated that the film's music composer AR Rahman had done a major sambavam. Many fans seem to agree with Simbu's opinion stating that the composer is in his element, every time he scores for STR.
One of the fans stated that Rahman's composition had taken the trailer to another league altogether. "#PathuThala trailer is MIND BLOWING!! Looks like a surefire blockbuster! #SilambarasanTR slips effortlessly into the role of ruthless gangster AGR. #ARRahman's music is the biggest highlight. He takes this trailer to the different level with his score! (sic)."
Another fan wrote, "Rahman Bhai has done it again for #PathuThala delivered a banger as STR said . That screaming English theme in teaser and now the trailer PATHU THALA bg music Rawadi song sema dance number ah eruka podhu other songs also impressed , need to listen out Album again (sic)."
The film is a remake of the Kannada film Mufti, which starred Shiva Rajkumar, Srimurali and Shanvi Srivasatava, and was directed by debutant Narthan. Pathu Thala is all set to hit screens on March 30 and fans are hoping for a hatrick for Silambarasan after Maanaadu and Vendhu Thanindhathu Kaadu.
