Patriot, Chatha Pacha and more; Mammootty films to look forward to in 2026

In contrast to 2025, the Malayalam megastar Mammootty has a number of exciting projects scheduled for production and release in 2026. This contains cameos and collaborations with a few young well-known directors. The majority of them have not yet been given titles. Chatha Pacha

It's interesting to note that Mammootty appears briefly as a wrestling instructor in Chatha Pacha. On January 22, the film, which purportedly centres on WWE, will simultaneously open in theatres across the globe. Through its posters, the makers of this action movie had hinted at Mammootty's presence multiple times.

Patriot

This film is among the most-anticipated Malayalam films of 2026. Patriot is reportedly scheduled to open in theatres on April 9 or 15, which falls on the same day as Vishu 2026. Mahesh Narayanan is the director of this much anticipated sociopolitical action thriller. Since Mammootty and Mohanlal haven't collaborated in a while, fans have high expectations for Patriot.

Mammootty-Khalid Rahman Film

The makers released an official poster revealing this film last month, despite the fact that there had been rumours about this project for a few days. Niyog, Suhas, and Sharfu wrote the screenplay for the movie, which celebrates the Malayalam megastar. Naslen and Asif Ali are reportedly going to play important roles in this highly anticipated movie. 

Mammootty-Adoor Gopalakrishnan Film

Director Adoor disclosed last month that Mammootty will play the main character in his upcoming movie in an interview with Manorama News. The movie is probably based on Thakazhi Sivasankara Pillai's book Randidangazhi, despite the lack of specifics.

Mammootty-Ranjith Film

According to reports, Malayalam megastar will make a brief appearance in Ranjith's next directorial reprising the iconic character, Kaarikkamuri Shanmugan of the 2004 action thriller, Black. Thudarum-fame Prakash Varma is also a part of this new film.

Mammootty-Nithish Sahadev Film

In a recent interview with The Cue Studio, Falimy-fame Nithish Sahadev disclosed that Mammootty will play a local mobster in his upcoming film, which would take place along the Kerala-Tamil Nadu border. Pre-production for the mass action movie is scheduled to begin on January 14, 2026.
