DisneyPlus Hotstar VIP dropped a teaser of the upcoming film, Bhuj: The Pride of India on its YouTube channel on July 11. The OTT film has a star-studded cast with some of the biggest names in Bollywood including Ajay Devgan, Sonakshi Sinha, Sanjay Dutt, Ammy Virk, Nora Fatehi, Ihana Dhillion, Sharad Kelkar and Pranitha Subhash.

The teaser showcases snippets from the movie, displaying scenes of death and destruction, with aircrafts dropping bombs along with a few dance sequences, ending with a patriotic dialogue from Ajay Devgan.

Take a look at the teaser below:

The film will trace the 1971 Indo-Pak war in the aftermath of Pakistan attacking the Bhuj airbase under Operation Chenghiz Khan. The period war movie is inspired by IAF Squadron and airport in-charge Vijay Karnik’s life who, with the help of three hundred local women, reconstructed the airbase in Madhapur to fight back and save the country.

The film chronicles the story of patriotism and the victory of a country because of a handful of people in the face of extenuating circumstances. Bhushan Kumar, Bhuj’s producer had earlier said in a statement that the upcoming generation needs to be aware of the critical role Vijay Karnik played in achieving victory in the 1971 war against Pakistan. “He was heroic enough to take this bold step of involving civilians in a war. Also, who better than Ajay Devgn for the role of Vijay Karnik?”, Kumar added.

Ajay Devgan will be seen essaying the role of IAF Squadron Vikay Karnik in this Abhishek Dudhaiya directorial. The film is slated for an August 13 release on Disney+ Hotstar.
