Pekamedalu: Baahubali actor Rakesh Varre introduces a host of newcomers with his next production

Rakesh Varre, who rose to prominence with his portrayal of Sethupathi in Baahubali, received encouraging responses for his romance drama Evvarikee Cheppoddu, that he had also produced under Crazy Ants Productions. The latter was a 2019 release and received immense critical acclaim upon its OTT premiere on Netflix. His next as a producer is another entertainer Pekamedalu.

Pekamedalu stars Vinoth Kishan, the actor who made a mark in films like Naa Peru Shiva and Andhaghaaram, as the protagonist while Anoosha Krishna is cast as female lead. Over 50 talented newcomers and experienced technicians have worked for Pekamedalu. With his production house, Rakesh hopes to provide a facelift to new talent in the industry.

Popular sound designer Renganath Ravee, associated with films like Angamaly Diaries, Jallikattu and sound mixer Kannan Ganpath are also part of the crew. Pekamedalu’s director is also a debutant, Neelagiri Mamilla. Crazy Ants Productions, today, unveiled the title, first look and motion poster of the film, which is sure to warrant your attention.

The poster bears a 360-degree photo representing Hyderabad, where the protagonist Vinoth Kishan dons a lungi, a shirt, wears glasses and sports a mischievous smile. The backdrop of a bustling slum in the backdrop piques your interest. Pekamedalu comes with a unique premise and will have a theatrical release this August.

Written and directed by Neelagiri Mamilla, the film is produced by Rakesh Varre and co-produced by Varun Bora. Ketan Kumar is the executive producer. Haricharan K is the cinematographer while Smaran is the composer. Kranthi Priyam is the production designer and it has two editors - Srujan Adusumilli and Hamza Ali. Bhargava Karthik has written the dialogues and is the sole lyricist.
