Debutant Febin Sidharth's Pennu Case, starring Nikhila Vimal in the lead, has commenced shooting in Mysore. The team of the upcoming Malayalam film shared the update with an interesting photo.

The filming of Pennu Case, starring Nikhila Vimal, has commenced in Mysore. Written and directed by debutant Febin Sidharth, the film which also features Hakim Shajahan, Aju Varghese and Ramesh Pisharody as part of the cast. The makers of Pennu Case announced the commencement of shooting with an interesting picture.
The photo shared on Instagram by the team of Pennu Case features the lead actress of Nikhila Vimal, while the rest of the people in the picture have covered their faces with handkerchiefs.
Pennu means girl or young woman in Malayalam, and Pennu Case is generally used to refer to cases relating to woman harassment or assault. When such cases come under media scrutiny, the accused people are generally seen covering their faces as they are led away by the police. The title and the new photo clearly hint that the story could revolve around such an incdient.
Mukesh R Mehta, Rajesh Krishna and CV Sarathi are producing the film under the banners of E4 Experiments and London Talkies. Aswathi Naduthodi of VU Talkies is the co-producer of the film which has cinematography by Shinoz. Reshmi Radhakrishnan and Febin Sidharth have penned the script, while Jyothish M, Sunu V and Ganesh Malayath have written the dialogues. Music is by Ankit Menon, while Sarin Ramakrishnan is the editor and Arshad Nakkoth as its art director. Asif Kuttipuram is the chief associate director. Vipin Kumar, Bibin Teja and Ashwathy Jayakumar are in charge of its promotions, make-up and costumes, respectively.

Nikhila Vimal last featured in Get-Set Baby, which starred Unni Mukundan as an IVF specialist. But Vinay Govind’s film, which released on February 21, 2025, has opened to mixed reviews. Nikhila was also seen in Vineeth Sreenivasan-starrer Oru Jaathi Jathakam. The film, which released in January 2025, was helmed by M Mohanan who had previously directed Aravindante Athidhikal.
