Guru Deshpande of Raja Huli and Padde Huli fame is bringing an exciting anthology film titled Pentagon, which comprises five different stories directed by five different filmmakers. With many noteworthy and talented actors such as Kishore (of Kantara fame), Prakash Belawadi, and Pruthvi Ambaar, among others as part of the project, Guru Deshpande and his panel of directors are attempting to push the envelope in Kannada Cinema.
Guru Deshpande, who also serves as the film's creative head and producer, has directed one of the five segments which stars Kishore and Pruthvi Ambaar in the lead. Earlier today, on January 18th, the team released the maiden teaser of Pentagon which offers a peek into Deshpande's film - as seen in the teaser, Kishore plays the role of a Kannada activist with Pruthvi Ambaar, the other lead of the film, essaying the role of a man set out to expose the former's misdeeds.
Kishore plays Kadamba Ramachandrappa in the Guru Deshpande-led segment and is revealed to be a former underworld don in the film. The trailer also suggests that Kishore's character misuses the Kannada culture and language to spread hate and disharmony. Pruthvi Ambaar can be seen as a lone warrior who tries his might to unveil Kadamba Ramachandrappa's true intentions. Bigg Boss Kannada Season 9 famed Rupesh Rajanna too stars in this segment.
The other four filmmakers involved in Pentagon are Raghu Shivamogga, Chandra Mohan, Akash Srivatsa, and Kiran Kumar. Raghu Shivamogga's segment includes veteran actor Prakash Belawadi as a police officer with Sagar Gowda, Prerana Kambam, and others playing key roles in the film. Chandra Mohan's segment features Pramod Shetty, Apoorva and others while Pritika Deshpande, P. Ravishankar, and others make up the cast of another segment of Pentagon. One can expect the teasers of each of these segments to be released shortly.
Reportedly, Guru Deshpande conceived the idea during the 2020 lockdown and the entire ethos of Pentagon revolves around the concept of death. The film is expected to release soon in theatres.
