Percy Jackson and The Olympians teaser: Walker Scobell as young demigod embarks on a journey to find the 'lightning bolt'

Percy Jackson and the Olympians is an upcoming fantasy drama series based on a famous novel series of the same name by Rick Riordan. Created by Rick Riordan and Jonathan E. Steinberg, the Disney+ Hotstar show stars Walker Scobell, Aryan Simhadri and Leah Jeffries in pivotal roles. The makers have dropped an intriguing teaser video that sees the young demigod discovering new facts about his existence.

The latest teaser video begins with a young schoolboy dealing with his mundane issues such as bad grades and bullies at school. Soon, he realises some extraordinary powers inside him and also discovers seeing unusual creatures that others couldn't. Post the unusual incidents his mother reveals that the story of half-blood and mystical creatures that she used to tell her in childhood actually exists in real life. Soon after that, he learns that his best buddy from school is half human and half goat, who has been looking after him. He also gets to know that he is a demigod and a descendant of one of the Olympians.

Plot of the show

Percy Jackson learns about his supernatural powers and also his existence as a demigod when the sky god Zeus accuses him of stealing his master lightning bolt. This leads him to embark on a journey with his two friends to find Zeus's weapon and restore order to Olympus.

Release date

Percy Jackson and The Olympians, which also features Threnody Tsai, Jason Gray-Stanford, Jelena Milinkovic, Timothy Omundson, Lance Reddick and Jessica Parker Kennedy among others in key roles, is slated to release its first two episodes on December 20 on Disney Plus Hotstar.
