Perusu, the 2025 Tamil film which stars actors and brothers Sunil and Vaibhav in the lead roles, released in theatres on Friday (March 14). The film, which is censored with A certificate, is an adult comedy drama which revolves around post-mortem erection. Owing to this, Perusu has made a modest opening with Rs 0.53 crore on its first day in India.

2025 Tamil film Perusu saw the collaboration of brothers and actors Sunil and Vaibhav. After working together in the 2024 crime thriller Ranam Aram Thavarel (which is available on Aha Tamil and OTTplay Premium at discounted price ), the brothers reunited one more time, this time for an adult comedy entertainer. Perusu, which has been certified A for its plot, is about the demise of a much-respected old man who dies with an erection. Perusu revolves around the bereaving family’s struggles to conduct the funeral of a man, without letting the rest of the villagers know of his condition.
The film has collected Rs 0.53 crore in India at the box office on its first day. Given its censor certificate and theme, the film is not suitable for children which can take a toll on its collection. However, Perusu has been receiving favourable reviews which can attract audience above 18 years to watch it in theatres.
The film’s streaming rights have been bagged by Netflix and will premiere after its theatrical run. It is produced by Kaarthekeyen S, Harman Baweja, Hiranya Perera. The technical crew consists of songs by Arun Raj, with Sundaramurthy K.S doing the background score. The film is shot by cinematographer Sathya Thilakam and Sooriya Kumaraguru is the editor.
Perusu also features Niharika NM in her acting debut in Tamil, Chandini, Deepa Shankar, Redin Kingsley, Bala Saravanan amongst others. The film is written and directed by Ilango Ram who has also made the film in Sinhalese.
