Pharma OTT release: Nivin Pauly and Rajit Kapur’s JioHotstar series to begin streaming, makers drop first look

Malayalam star Nivin Pauly’s much-anticipated web series debut, Pharma, is all set to drop on JioHotstar soon. The series, which is helmed by Finals director PR Arun, is reportedly set for a September release on the streaming platform and will be released in Malayalam, Tamil, Telugu, Kannada and Hindi.

The makers had released the first look poster of the series ahead of its OTT debut, along with revealing a one-liner about what the series entails. “The story of a salesman and the fight for his target,” the makers had captioned the poster of the series that showed Nivin in a salesman’s avatar trapped inside a transparent pill.

Pharma OTT release date: When, where to watch the series

The platform is yet to announce the release date of the series, but OTTplay has learnt that Pharma will begin streaming on JioHotstar, which is accessible via OTTplay Premium, in September 2025. It’s not clear whether the platform is planning to drop it as part of its Onam release - making a September 5 release likely.

The first episode of the series was shown at the International Film Festival of India (IFFI) in December 2024. The show revolves around Nivin Pauly’s character, a middle-class man who ends up as a medical representative, and delves into the working of the Indian pharmaceutical industry.

Hindi actor Rajit Kapur plays a pivotal role in the web series, which has Abhinandan Ramanujam and Jakes Bejoy as its cinematographer and composer, respectively.

Pharma cast

Apart from Nivin and Rajit, the series also has Shruti Ramachandran, Narain, Veena Nandakumar, Muthumani and Binu Pappu in supporting roles. JioHotstar is also streaming other Malayalam web series including Kerala Crime Files Season 1 and 2, Love Under Construction, Masterpeace and Periloor Premier League.

The platform will also begin streaming Secret Stories: Roslin, which has Sanjana Dipu and Hakkim Shajahan as part of the cast. The show is backed by Drishyam director Jeethu Joseph.
