The actor had suffered multiple injuries during an accident while he was on a speedboat in Malaysia

Actor Vijay Antony, who had suffered multiple injuries on the sets of Pichaikkaran 2 recently, is recovering well at his home in Chennai. Director Susienthiran shared a letter in which he shared the update on his health. In the statement, he wrote, "Vijay Antony, who got injured during the shooting of 'Pichaikkaran 2' reached his home in Chennai two days ago. Doctors have advised him to rest for two weeks. He will soon talk to everyone. I request you all to not believe any rumours about him."
Vijay Antony was shooting for a sequence that involved a speedboat at Langkawi, Malaysia. The actor is said to have lost control over his boat and rammed into another boat nearby. He and the film's lead actress Kavya Thapar were thrown out of the boat in the impact of the collision. While Kavya suffered minor injuries on her head, Vijay Antony had multiple injuries and he lost consciousness after the accident. The news of the actor recovering well has come as a huge relief for fans.
Earlier, producer Dhananjayan, too, had shared that he was in touch with the Pichaikkaran 2 team and Vijay Antony's family.
Pichaikkaran 2 features Vijay Antony and Kavya Thapar in the lead, along with Yogi Babu and John Vijay. Vijay Antony has also doubled up as the director and producer of the film, which is releasing in Tamil, Malayalam (Bhikshakkaran2), Telugu (Bichagadu2) and Kannada (Bhikshuka2) and Hindi. The film is touted to be an emotional drama and is slated to release during the summer of 2023. The satellite and digital rights of the film have been bagged by Star Network.
The film is considered a sequel to Pichaikkaran (2016), written and directed by Sasi. It starred Vijay Antony, Satna Titus and Bagavathi Perumal and the plot revolved around a rich businessman, who has to live as a beggar for 48 days. Vijay Antony also has in his kitty, Tamilarasan, Agni Siragugal, Kolai, Ratham, Mazhai Pidikka Manithan and Valli Mayil to name a few.
