Saikiran Daida directs Pindam, that also stars Srinivas Avasarala, Easwari Rao
Pindam, a horror thriller marketed as the ‘scariest film ever’ by the makers, is set for a November release. Roja Poolu, Okariki Okaru fame Sriram/Srikanth is joining hands with Dia actress Kushee Ravi for the film that marks the directorial debut of Saikiran Daida. Yeshwanth Daggumati is bankrolling the film under Kalaahi Media. The film’s teaser was launched today.
The teaser begins with a conversation around spirits, ghosts between Easwari Rao and Srinivas Avasarala. The former, a spirit healer. enters a haunted house, where she senses something’s wrong. The incident takes her back to another scary experience from the past, involving a middle-class family. Their household is affected by negative spirits and a child is possessed by a spirit.
In terms of cinematography, sound design and other technical aspects, Pindam appears to be a sincere effort from the team to offer a horror film sans gimmicks. The film revolves around spirits, ghosts, offering a good mix of thrills, suspense backed by a nail-biting premise. Provided the film lives upto the promise generated by the teaser, Pindam can spring a surprise.
Easwari Rao, Srinivas Avasarala, Ravi Varma, Manik Reddy, Baby Chaitra, Baby Ieisha, Vijayalakshmi and Srilatha form the supporting cast of the film jointly written by Saikiran Daida, Kavi Siddhartha and Toby Osborne. Krishna Saurabh Surampalli scores the music for the film while Satish Manoharan is the cinematographer and Sirish Prasad is the editor respectively.
Sriram had multiple Telugu releases recently - Ravanasura, 10th Class Diaries. He also headlined a web show Recce, a crime thriller for ZEE5. Pindam is Kushee Ravi’s first film in Telugu while the dubbed version of Dia enjoyed a good reception on Youtube too. After Pindam wraps up post-production formalities, a release date will be announced shortly.
