Pinki Elli, Yadha Yadha Hi, Radha Ramana and Hint - Kannada films in theatres on June 2

Today, four straight Kannada films will release in theatres, namely, Yadha Yadha Hi, Pinki Elli, Hint and Radha Ramana. They come to movie halls at a time when Daredevil Musthafa is still going strong and a few earlier releases, including Shivaji Surathkal 2, continue to hold on to 1-2 screens each. Giving them competition are the Kannada dubbed versions of the Malayalam disaster film 2018 and Spider Man Across the Spiderverse.

While 2018 has a very limited Kannada release, which comes a week after the Tamil, Telugu and Hindi versions were released, Spider Man gets a fair share of screens for its Kannada version. In fact, when the Kannada version of 2018 did not release on May 26, it was believed that it would be available on OTT only and, therefore, forego a theatrical outing. 2018 is dropping on Sony Liv on June 7.

Here’s a look at the Kannada films in theatres today…

Yadha Yadha Hi: With actors like Diganth, Vasishta N Simha and Hariprriya leading the cast, this is, no doubt, the bigger release of the week, but then, it is the Kannada remake of a hit Telugu film called Evaru. This is a murder mystery, which pairs Vasishta and Hariprriya for the first time.

Pinki Elli: Director Prithvi Konanur’s film festival darling stars Akshata Pandavapura, Deepak Subramanya and a bunch of non-actors, in a tale about a child that goes missing, caught in the city’s begging mafia.

Radha Ramana: Starring Raghav N, Sanjana Burli, Chirag Gowda S, Rekha Shree, among others, Radha Ramana is a love story.

Hint: This mystery thriller follows a newly-married couple enroute to their honeymoon, who encounter paranormal activities.
