Pippa: Release date, OTT partner, trailer, plot, cast and more about the Ishaan Khatter starrer

The Ishaan Khatter starrer Pippa is definitely one of the most eagerly awaited films in the OTT space. Even though Ishaan Khatter had played challenging roles before this film, this film will surely be ranked and counted as one of his career best and career defining performances. Ishaan will be seen playing the role of Captain Mehta of the 45th Cavalry Tank Squadron. He was the very dynamic and dashing Captain Mehta of the 45th Cavalry tank squadron who had fought on India’s Eastern Front during the unforgettable war that took place between India and Pakistan in the year 1971. And the outcome of this war went onto lead to the creation of Bangladesh.

Why the name ‘Pippa’
Directed by Raja Menon, ‘Pippa’ is based on the book ‘The Burning Chaffees’. For all those who were wondering as to why the film has been named as ‘Pippa’, then, let us tell you that, the title of the film is a direct reference to PT-76, which happens to be an amphibious tank that is popularly called as ‘Pippa’. This amphibious tank ‘plays’ an extremely important role in the film. That also, explains the film’s title.

Story outline of Pippa
As per a news report in the international website ‘Variety’, it had quoted the film’s producer Ronnie Screwvala talking about the film by saying that ’Pippa’ was more than a wartime movie for him. He added that, it was a salute to the Indian brave hearts whose courage, fearlessness, and patriotism are the reason why India continued to remain a strong and powerful nation today. He also added that, to be able to narrate a true story on screen was never easy, and when it was a story about war and war heroes, the stakes only get higher.

Ahead of the release of the much-awaited film, the makers had dropped an extremely interesting trailer. Oh boy! One must admit that, the trailer itself gives the audiences goosebumps. The USP of the film’s trailer is that, it starts pulling you towards it as it progresses. And to see the young and dynamic Ishaan Khatter attempting a role of this order and that too at such an early stage of his career is indeed praise worthy. The film’s trailer builds the plot of the film within a few moments. That’s when the young Captain Mehta of the 45th Cavalry tank squadron (played by Ishaan Khatter) chooses ‘Pippa’ as his counterpart while waging a war against Pakistan.

The cast of the film
Besides Ishaan Khatter, the film also has the extremely gracious Mrunal Thakur playing the leading lady in the film. Besides them, the film also stars Priyanshu Painyuli and Soni Razdan in important roles. The icing on the cake is that, the Music Maestro A R Rahman himself is the music director of the film.

The Ishaan Khatter starrer has been directed by Raja Menon and will be streaming only on Prime Video from November 10.
