Piya Chakraborty sends out ‘strong’ message about love and healing

Social worker and activist Piya Chakraborty’s popularity spiked on social media after she tied the knot with Parambrata Chatterjee. However, she has long been working with an NGO as a mental health activist and was barely involved with the entertainment world. 

Piya shared a quotation on Instagram on Friday which told some lines about a person who’s loved. It can be seen as a fitting reply to the trolls who teased her about her marriage to Parambrata. 

The quotation's point is, that it is a disservice to us to choose a partner only after they are perfectly healed because we choose a partner along with their history and trauma also. It is a two-sided choice and we should help each other's growth. 

Piya, previously married to singer Anupam Roy, separated from him in 2021. In 2023, she got married to Parambrata. Many netizens sympathised with Anupam and trolled Param as a wife-stealer at that time. 

Parambrata then said in an interview that he had known Piya for a long time and there was nothing between them when Piya and Anupam separated. They felt love for each other much later and then they decided to marry each other. Param had several relationships before but none of them worked out. 

Parambrata also said that he did not have parents and- that coming back to Piya was like a sanctuary to him. He said Piya is his biggest strength and a place of dependence. 

Anupam Roy also got married in March 2024 to singer Prasmita Paul.
