PM Modi greets Mammootty, Mohanlal at Suresh Gopi's daughter's wedding. See videos

Prime Minister Narendra Modi attended the wedding ceremony of actor-politician Suresh Gopi's daughter on Wednesday. The wedding took place at the Guruvayur temple and it was also attended by the who's who of the Malayalam film industry. Suresh's daughter Bhagya Suresh tied the knot with Sreyas Mohan in a traditional temple wedding, followed by a reception for family and friends in Thrissur.

A video showing Modi greeting Malayalam superstars Mammootty and Mohanlal is going viral on social media. Modi also gave his blessings to the newlywed and quickly exchanged pleasantries with the other high-profile guests at the wedding. It appears that Modi also presented gifts to all the attendees he met during the occasion.

Strict security protocol

Before attending the wedding, PM Modi also offered prayers at the Guruvayur temple and performed the traditional ritual of thulabharam. While the Guruvayur temple witnesses hundreds of weddings daily, all other ceremonies were temporarily halted between 6 AM and 9:30 AM to accommodate Modi's visit.

The superstars were also required to undergo mandatory security checks before entering the same venue as the prime minister. A video showing the security officials frisking Mammootty, Mohanlal and other high-profile members of the Malayalam film fraternity is also doing the rounds on social media.

The who's who of Malayalam cinema in attendance

Suresh Gopi is one of the most seasoned stars of Malayalam cinema. He continues to command a significant sway at the box office, even after its electoral plunge. He also shares a great rapport with all his colleagues in the industry, which was on full display at the wedding ceremony of his daughter.

Besides Mohanlal and Mammootty, the wedding was also attended by Jayaram, Biju Menon, Kushboo, Dileep and other powerful members of Malayalam cinema.
