It was only recently filmmaker Thiagarajan Kumararaja announced his next project, titled Pocket Novel. It is after seven years, the director is back to making feature films. Even as he has only two films to his credit, Thiagarajan Kumararaja has earned a niche fan following for his work. Thiagarajan Kumararaja’s Pocket Novel is currently under production with shooting in progress. The film stars Vijay Sethupathi who will be reuniting with the director after Super Deluxe. In a recent interview, Thiagarajan Kumararaja said that they are looking to finish shooting the film in one schedule and aiming to release by the end of 2026. The project will also have score by Ilaiyaraaja, the composer that Thiagarajan Kumararaja has often expressed admiration for. The director said that the composing is also over. While a release date for Pocket Novel is yet to be announced, Thiagarajan Kumararaja’s film is expected to hit theatres by this year itself.

Besides Vijay Sethupathi, the film also stars Malavika Mohanan, Raj B Shetty in his Tamil debut and Kishore. Andrew Louis, who has written for Kolai, Leelai films, has penned the screenplay and story for Pocket Novel. The film will be released in Tamil, Hindi, Malayalam and Kannada. With cinematographer Nirav Shah onboard, Sathyaraj Natarajan is the editor.
