Ponniyin Selvan 2 box office: Telugu version starts well, distributors to make good profits

Ponniyan Selvan 2 is finally out in the open and has started with a bang. The reviews are glowing and the word of mouth is very good. As there were a lot of expectations due to the success of the first part, the second part needed to click and it has lived up to all the hype created and the box office numbers are going to be solid in the days to come.

Coming to the Telugu version, the first part did not fetch much revenue for the Telugu distributors and a few areas also saw losses in Andhra Pradesh. But that is not the case with the second part. As the reviews are good, the film has taken to a very impressive start in the Telugu states. The day one number is also going to be quite good say the early reports.

Also, as the first part was not that profitable, the theatrical rights of the second part were sold for nominal prices. So, very soon, all those parties involved will be in a profit zone for sure. Dil Raju bought the rights of PS-1 for a massive price but he backed out at the last minute when it came to PS-2 thinking the second part will also not fetch him big money.

But the opposite has happened as all those who watched the film in Telugu have only good things to say about it. In Tamil, the film started with a bang and will make solid numbers on day one worldwide. Mani Ratnam has once again proved that he is the master of storytelling and can direct any subject with ease. AR Rahaman has composed the music and Aishwarya Rai played a pivotal role in PS-2.
