The team recently announced that the audio launch will be held in Chennai on March 29. And now the film's composer AR Rahman has dropped a BTS video which provides a sneak peek into the recording session of the album. The album will have seven songs, with renditions by Chinmayi Sripada, Shakthishree Gopalan and Swetha Mohan to name a few. In the video, AR Rahman is seen overseeing the composing session in the recording studio.

Chinmayi has revealed that she had only recorded for the Telugu version of the album and not Tamil. Taking to her social media handle, she wrote, "I have sung in Ponniyin Selvan 2 *TELUGU* (Not in Tamil)  Also I recorded only 2 days ago and wasn’t expecting it to be retained or anything as usual and thought I’d be replaced. Soooo :) (sic)."

In a video shared by Madras Talkies, Karthi has requested everyone to come up with their version of the popular romantic song Aga Naga. The actor has asked everyone to record their own cover of Aga Naga as a video and post it on social media along with the hashtag #AgaNagaCoversContest. Trisha had made the same announcement yesterday and requested fans to send the covers. Karthi added that just because Trisha had made the appeal, it doesn't mean that only women have to send the covers and that men can take part, too. Karthi also announced a surprise for the winners. The single has become a huge hit ever since it was released in five languages.

The second instalment of Ponniyin Selvan is all set to hit screens on April 28. The film stars Vikram, Jayam Ravi, Trisha, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan and Karthi. Ponniyin Selvan, directed by Mani Ratnam, has cinematography by Ravi Varman, editing by Sreekar Prasad and art direction by Thota Tharani. The film is jointly produced by Madras Talkies and Lyca Productions.
