When it comes to savage replies, AR Rahman has proved time and again that he is the king! The Ponniyin Selvan composer did it once again after actress Kasthuri Shankar took a jibe at AR Rahman's wife Saira Banu, for not speaking in tamil fluently.

A video of AR Rahman talking about his wife Saira Banu who watched his interviews again and again just to hear his voice, at an award event had recently gone viral on social media. In the video, when Saira Banu is asked to speak, Rahman jocularly urges her to speak in Tamil and not Hindi. Many had called it a subtle statement against the Hindi opposition attempt by the Union Government.

Saira Banu then responds to him saying, "Oh my God," and speaks in English. She also asks people to forgive her for not speaking in Tamil. She says, "Sorry, I can't speak fluently in Tamil. So, please excuse me. I am happy and excited because his voice is my favourite. I fell in love with his voice. That's all I have to say (sic)."

Kasthuri Shankar shared the video of AR Rahman and Saira Banu's banter on her social media handle, and wrote in Tamil, which roughly translates to, "What? AR Rahman's wife doesn't know Tamil? What is her mother tongue? Which language do they speak at home? #arrrahman (sic)."

Rahman replied to her tweet in a savage manner in Tamil, which read, "Kadhalukku Mariyadhai (sic), which translates to "respect to love". The tweet has now gone viral on the internet and many have praised Rahman for standing up for his wife.
