Though director Rathish Ambat and Murali Gopy’s Kammarasambhavam, which had Dileep, Siddharth and Namitha Pramod in the lead, didn’t do well at the box office, the film has managed to gain a cult following, due to its unique storytelling. While Rathish and Murali teamed up again in Theerppu last year, rumours are rife that the duo will be joining hands with Dileep for a big-budget entertainer that will be produced by Lyca Productions.

The movie will reportedly mark the Ponniyin Selvan 1 and 2 makers debut production venture in Malayalam. OTTplay reached out to Rathish to verify if such a project is in the works.

“These are false reports,” he tells OTTplay. “There are other projects that are under discussion, but this particular film is not happening. There were talks with Lyca Productions, where their people had approached with an interest of doing a Malayalam movie but it’s not a Dileep-starrer.”

Rathish, however, also says that he and Dileep have had talks with each other about doing a movie together too. “We had, in fact, recently discussed collaborating for a movie if we get the right script,” he says, adding that he is currently working on an entirely different subject for which the actors haven’t been confirmed yet.

Meanwhile, Dileep, who has completed the shoot of two big films – Rafi’s Voice of Sathyanathan and Arun Gopy’s Bandra, has teamed up with Udal director Ratheesh Reghunandhan for a film, which also has Neeta Pillai and Pranitha Subash in the lead. The upcoming movie, which is tentatively titled D148, is expected to hit theatres during Onam.

Dileep also recently announced that he will be collaborating with Rorschach and Kettyolaanu Ente Maalakha director Nissam Basheer for a movie, which is expected to go on floors by November this year.
