Trisha Krishnan, who has Garjanai, Mani Ratnam's Ponniyin Selvan (which is scheduled to release on September 30), and Raangi, has started shooting for her next Tamil project. Titled, The Road, the film, will be directed by newbie Arun Vaseegaran and produced by AAA Cinema.

The Road went on floors, with a formal puja in Chennai recently. A source tells OTTplay, "The film is inspired by real-life incidents that had happened in Madurai a few decades ago. And, revolves around the character of Trisha, a bold woman, who rages against anti-social elements. The crew will be shooting in Madurai for the next 50 days."

Also, featuring Santhosh Prathap, Vela Ramamoorthy, Miya George, Vivek Prasanna, Shabeer of Sarpatta Parambarai fame and MS Bhaskar, more details about The Road are awaited. In the coming days, you can expect the makers to share the developments about the film on their social media pages.

The Road will have music by Sam CS (of Vikram Vedha fame), editing by Nagooran, and cinematography by KG Venkatesh.

Meanwhile, Trisha has also completed shooting for her debut web series, Brinda, in which she plays the role of a police officer. Touted to be a crime investigation drama, the web series, said to be made for SonyLIV, was formally launched last year. Although Trisha has previously been a part of many hit cop films, including Saamy and Yennai Arindhaal, this is the first time she's donning the role of a cop.

Brinda's supporting cast includes Sai Kumar, Amani and Malayalam actor Indrajith Sukumaran. The web series is directed by newcomer Surya Vangala.

Further, Trisha is looking forward to the release of the long-awaited, Sathuranga Vettai 2, which is yet to make it to the theatres.

Directed by Nirmal Kumar, the story is written by H Vinoth (of Valimai fame), who directed part one.
