Ponniyin Selvan BO Effect: Borrder, Coffee with Kadhal, Kasethan Kadavulada release postponed?

Mani Ratnam's magnum opus Ponniyin Selvan has opened to packed theatres and positive reviews from the audience. The film is an adaptation of Kalki's epic literary work Ponniyin Selvan, and we hear that fans of the novel have been making a beeline to the theatres to catch the film. The Dussehra holidays, too, have become an icing on the cake for theatregoers. The film revolves around the early days of the Chola King Arulmozhi Varman, who becomes Raja Raja Chola I in the future. Ponniyin Selvan is breaking a number of records at the box office and has also become the top grosser in Malaysia and is reigning the box office in many other countries.

In the meantime, we hear that three Tamil films that were lined up for release this week have been postponed due to Ponniyin Selvan's rampage at the box office. The films include Arun Vijay's Borrder, Sundar C's Coffee With Kadhal and Kannan's Kasethan Kadavulada. Arun Vijay's Borrder is a spy thriller directed by Arivazhagan and the film has Regina Cassandra and Stefi Patel playing the leading ladies. Arun Vijay is said to be playing an Army officer in the film.

Coffee with Kadhal, which was scheduled to hit screens on October 7, is a romantic comedy with an ensemble cast including Jiiva, Jai, Srikanth, Aishwarya Dutta, Amritha Aiyer, Raiza Wilson, Malvika Sharma, Dhivyadharshini, Yogi Babu and Redin Kingsley. The film is bankrolled by Sundar C and Khushbu's home production Avni Cinemax and Benzz Media. Music for the film is by Yuvan Shankar Raja.

Kasethan Kadavulada is a remake of the 1972 film of the same name. The heist comedy is written and produced by Kannan. It stars Mirchi Shiva, Priya Anand, Yogi Babu, Thalaivasal Vijay, Urvashi, Karunakaran, Sivaangi Krishnakumar, Pugazh and Manobala. The plot revolves around a man trying to steal money from his stingy stepmother.
