A few days ago, actor R Madhavan had announced that he was all set to team up with Thiruchitrambalam director Mithran R Jawahar for his upcoming project. Now the latest we hear about the film is that popular writer B Jeyamohan, who had worked on films like Mani Ratnam's Ponniyin Selvan and Vendhu Thanindhathu Kaadu, has been brought on board. Mithran dropped a poster of the writer, announcing that he will pen the screenplay and dialogues of the film. Mithran captioned the picture, "Happy and Grateful to collaborate with Legendary Writer #Jeyamohan sir @ActorMadhavan @Mediaone_M1@sharmilamandre (sic)."

The shoot for the film is all set to begin in May. The project will have Kannada actress Sharmila Mandre as the leading lady. The rest of the details of the cast and crew are yet to be announced. Interestingly, this is the maiden collaboration between Madhavan and Mithran Jawahar. Mithran had shared his excitement saying, "After the blockbuster success of Thiruchitrambalam, kicking off my next directorial project starring uber-talented, and fan-favourite @ActorMadhavan. Produced by the acclaimed Mediaone Global Entertainment. Let's Roll! @Mediaone_M1 @sharmilamandre (sic)."

Madhavan had replied to him saying, "Such a pleasure to be joining  hands with you sir. I’m so looking forward to working with you and having a great time, doing the film and creating magic (sic)."

The project is considered to be a comeback film of sorts for Madhavan, who hasn't worked in Tamil for a long time. Though his last release Rocketry did release in Tamil, it was a film that was made in multiple languages. He was seen in Maara in 2021, which was a remake of the Malayalam film Charlie. His last straight Tamil film was Vikram Vedha (2017) in which he teamed opposite Vijay Sethupathi. The film was remade in Hindi with the same name featuring Hrithik Roshan and Saif Ali Khan in the lead.
