Pookie box office: How much was day 1 collection?
With romantic comedies being the current trend in Tamil cinema, the latest to join the list is Pookie, the recently released film featuring Ajay Dhishan and RK Dhanusha. Ajay Dhishan, nephew of Vijay Antony, had earlier appeared in crime thriller Maargan co-starring his uncle.
Pookie had opened to middling reviews by critics, and at the box office, has opened to not so great numbers. As per Sacnilk, Pookie has made Rs 15 lakh on the first day at the box office collection. The film is trailing behind another Tamil film which released on the same day; My Lord, which made Rs 35 lakh. Pookie has the weekend to show its credibility among audience.
What is Pookie about?
Pookie is a romantic comedy drama about a couple Kailash and Aazhi. The film starts with the break-up and revolves around their lives as they indulge in different activities; from binge eating, biking to spirituality to deviate themselves from the separation. However, a series of incidents make Aazhi and Kailash realise about each other. The rest of the film is about whether they get back together or move on with others.
The film is directed and shot by Ganesh Chandra, while Vijay Antony is the producer, editor and music composer of Pookie. Actors Pandiarajan, Sunil, Lakshmi Manchu, Indumathi Manigandan, Aaditya Kathir, Vivek Prasanna, Black Pandi, Bigg Boss Sathya, MJ Shriram, Radha, and others appear in supporting characters. It is written by Puthiya Parithi.
