Poonam Pandey apologises for viral fake death, addresses all speculations | Watch video

Model-turned-actor Poonam Pandey stirred conversations on Friday morning after the news of her demise was shared on her Instagram. From mourning her sudden demise to people remembering her for the controversial events, February 2 was a  'Poonam Pandey death day'. However, the Nasha actress has yet again shocked everyone after she recently shared a joint message with Hauterrfly, a media agency, apologising for her act and stating that she faked her death for a noble cause: to raise awareness about cervical cancer. The internet was abuzz with numerous speculations surrounding the Nasha actress's death. The internet sensation was also mourned by her Lockupp costars Karan Kundrra and Kangana Ranaut. However, she shared a video message on Instagram and apologised for her reckless act but emphasised that the motive behind it is a genuine.

A joint post by Poonam and Hauterrfly read, “Her bold act aims to spotlight the urgency of regular screenings, early detection, and the power of knowledge in conquering this silent threat. Join us in celebrating her resilience and spreading the crucial message.” 

Poonam Pandey is alive, not dead

Poonam Pandey shared a long video message. Dressed in a white top, she began with sincere apologies and said, “I’m sorry to those I’ve hurt. My intention was to shock everyone into conversations that we are not talking about, which is cervical cancer. Yes, I faked my demise.”

In the video, the model and actress confessed that there was an ulterior motive behind her fake death (to raise awareness) and asserted that she is proud of what the fake news of her death has been able to achieve.

Pandey also said that she will be answering all the questions and speculations in a joint live with the mentioned organisation.

Fans quickly escalated to anger and dubbed the attempt for fame. One fan said, “Engaging in a deceptive stunt, like faking one's death, under the guise of "raising awareness" is not only unethical but also manipulative.”

Some netizens also criticised the deed as a bad publicity stunt and slammed the actress for playing with people's feelings on the sensitive topic of demise.
