Virat Kohli smashed 82* runs off 53 balls against Pakistan.
Cometh the hour, cometh the man! Virat Kohli made sure India had victory in their hands as he smashed 82* runs off 53 balls against Pakistan in the T20 World Cup 2022.
The World Cup game saw openers, KL Rahul and Rohit Sharma not stand up to everyone's expectations and get out within four overs.
Starting off their innings, the Indian team managed to dodge the attack of Pakistan's Shaheen Afridi. However, the second over saw KL Rahul lose his wicket to Naseem Shah and Rohit Sharma follow him in the 4th over to Haris Rauf.
Kohli, who came to the crease, literally as an opener, went on to play his natural game. He builds his partnership with Hardik Pandya after the loss of Suryakumar Yadav's wicket.
He stuck till the end and gave India the needed victory, just before the festival of Diwali. With almost one lakh fans being treated to something magical, they took to social to cherish his innings.
Indian football captain Sunil Chhetri also took to social media and said, "Poore desh ke liye bhai @imVkohli ne akele hi pathaake phod diye hai. Happy Diwali, India".
As for the clash, Kohli seemed to be a little teary-eyed after the victory. India was dead and buried at 30 for 4, but Kohli and Pandya changed the game.
