Pop Kaun: Johny Lever, Saurabh Shukla tease something hilarious in store at Disney+ Hotstar; watch

Johny Lever and Saurabh Shukla have made a name for themselves as two of the most well respected artists in Bollywood. The artists, who have been in the industry for almost 30 years, have graced the silver screen with their talent in a number of roles, and making audiences laugh out loud with their skill in essaying comic roles. But it seems that the duo are ready to hang up their hats, but not without finding a worthy successor to continue their comedic legacy. Atleast, that’s what a new promo for Pop Kaun, from Disney+ Hotstar, seems to suggest.

The streaming giant took to social media to share a video featuring Johny and Saurabh. In the short video, the duo are seen sitting atop a railway line running through the mountains, having a very ‘serious’ conversation. Johny starts off by talking about how he does not feel up to it, it being comedy, sometimes and how he sometimes wants to leave it all behind. Saurabh hilariously misunderstands, and quips “Chodne se pehle batha diya karo” and proceeds to rub his nose.

After that misunderstanding gets cleared up, Johny broaches the subject of them leaving comedy behind, but says that they need to find someone to succeed them. The duo start to reject each other’s suggestions, and finally decide that the only way to decide is through Disney+ Hotstar’s Pop Kaun, which will stream on the platform soon. Farhad Samji was also tagged in the post.

The promo was captioned “Kursi ki peti baandh lijiye mausam bigadne nahi, comedy hone wala hai!”.

Johny was recently seen in Rohit Shetty’s Cirkus. Meanwhile, Johny’s children seem to be following in his footsteps as well. His children, Jesse Lever and Jamie Lever starred in a travel show called A Spin Around Dubai, which is streaming on MX Player. Saurabh was last seen in the Disney+ Hotstar show Dahan.
