It's always a delight to watch unapologetic women have fun, share a great camaraderie, have an identity beyond the men in their lives and not be reduced to melodramatic caricatures on the screen. Well, that's what filmmaker Aparna Malladi's second Telugu feature film Pellikuturu Party is all about. The trailer of the film featuring Aneesha Dama, Bhavana Vazhapandal, Arjun Kalyan, Sai Ketan Rao, Jaiyetri Makana, Prince Cecil, Annapurna and Kirrak Seetha was released in the presence of its cast, crew and writer-director Vijayendra Prasad in Hyderabad on Saturday.

Four women accompanied by their grandma are off on a wild bachelorette trip filled with surprises, shocks and unexpected twists. The film is introduced through the eyes of a young, gorgeous looking woman who ends up kissing her brother in law amid her sister's marriage and there's madness all around. The scene later shifts to a bachelorette party aka 'Pellikuturu Party' where a bunch of cousins and an elderly woman have no clue what destiny has in store for them. From drinks to handsome men to goons and a fair dose of fun, humour, this is a hep party like no other.

Pellikuturu Party, which has been Aparna Malladi's dream project for long, was entirely shot during the COVID-19 pandemic amid the two lockdowns. She has a unique, refreshing voice as a filmmaker and has previously directed films like Mitsein, The Anushree Exepriments and the immensely popular web show Posh Poris. Sweekar Agasthi's songs for the film, Jazz Kallu and Pyjama, have already struck a chord with music lovers. AVR Swamy has produced the film under Pruthvi Creations, with the cinematography by Naren Elan. The fun outing is edited by Dharmendra Kakarala. Pellikuturu Party is aiming for a release in late September.
