Jewel Thief actor Saif Ali Khan will begin filming for Rahul Dholakia's period drama soon. This will mark his first shooting since his house attack.

Saif Ali Khan was attacked and stabbed by an unknown intruder with a knife at his home in Mumbai’s Bandra area during a robbery in January 2025. The actor underwent surgery. Due to this, his shooting schedule for Rahul Dholakia's period drama was on hold. Now, as per reports, the actor will kickstart the shooting after the Jewel Thief promotions.
According to Mid-Day, Saif Ali Khan will begin shooting for Rahul Dholakia's period drama. The untitled film rolled on April 20 at the Grand Hotel in Ballard Estate, with Khan expected to join this week. This will be his first shoot since the house attack.

As per the report, the actor will play Sukumar Sen, India’s first Chief Election Commissioner, alongside Pratik Gandhi and Deepak Dobriyal.
The portal further mentioned that the set had over 200 extras who formed the crowd, and it was a charged sequence with Pratik and Deepak. "The unit will shoot across different locations in the city over the next few weeks. Saif and the director intend to shoot a chunk of the drama by May-end. The actor has wrapped up the promotions for Jewel Thief, and will turn his attention to this project in the coming days," the source added. It also mentioned that this period is very important for storytelling, and the production design team will create huge sets depicting 1950s India.
Jewel Thief is a heist thriller film starring Saif Ali Khan and Jaideep Ahlawat. The plot shows a skilled thief who is hired to steal the legendary African Red Sun diamond. The robbery plan turns into a treacherous game of deception and betrayal as the thief and his accomplices face unexpected alliances and high-stakes situations.
Speaking about the cast, Saif will portray the role of Rehan Roy. He is the master thief. On the other hand, Jaideep Ahlawat will be seen as Rajan Aulakh, the mafia boss. Kunal Kapoor will portray Detective Vikram Patel, and Nikita Dutta will play Farah. She is linked to the heist plot. Directed by Kookie Gulati and Robby Grewal, Jewel Thief is produced by Siddharth Anand and Mamta Bhatia and will land on Netflix on April 25.
