Prabhas is unwell, cancels Salaar, Project K shootings: Reports

The latest buzz is Tollywood superstar Prabhas has fallen ill. However, an official confirmation on the same is awaited. 

According to several media reports, Prabhas was diagnosed with a high fever. When he consulted a doctor, he was advised for a complete rest for the next few days. Prabhas is said to have put all his shooting commitments on hold to focus on recovery. 

Prabhas is currently involved with some of the most expensive movies that are being made in India: Salaar and Project K. 

Salaar is written and directed by Prashanth Neel, who became a household name after the success of KGF: Chapter 2. Prashanth began to shoot Salaar even before the release of KGF 2. When the second part of the Yash-starrer opened in cinemas last year, it created quite a splash across the country. And the massive commercial success of KGF 2 has ramped up the expectations around Salaar. 

Salaar is bankrolled by Hombale Films, the producer of the KGF series. And the filmmakers are said to be very confident about the project. So much so that the filmmakers are hoping that Salaar will outperform the KGF series in terms of box office collection. Besides Prabhas, Salaar also stars Prithviraj Sukumaran, Shruti Haasan and Jagapathi Babu. The film is due in cinemas on September 28. 

The production of Prabhas' big-budget spectacle Project K is also going on in full swing. Billed as science-fiction, the film is written and directed by Nag Ashwin of Mahanati fame. The film also stars some of the biggest Bollywood stars, including Amitabh Bachchan, Deepika Padukone and Disha Patani. According to reports, the film is being made at the cost of Rs 500 crore. The filmmakers haven't zeroed in on a release date yet.
