Prabhas, as usual, is keeping a low profile while simultaneously working on his upcoming projects Project K, Salaar and an untitled film directed by Maruthi. While Salaar and Adipurush are expected to release in 2023, the release dates of the other projects are yet to be announced. Meanwhile, a leaked still from the shoot of the Prabhas-Maruthi project went viral earlier this week.
In the still, Prabhas donning a multi-coloured overcoat is seen in a white tee and black denims, while in conversation with the director Maruthi. Veteran actress Zarina Wahab can also be spotted in the picture. Expectedly, the image went viral in no time as fans expressed their happiness while noticing their favourite star in a boy-next-door look. The film is touted to be a horror comedy in the making.
Unlike most recent films of the star, the Prabhas-Maruthi project took off without much fanfare earlier this year. Reports suggest that Malavika Mohanan, Nidhhi Agerwal and Riddhi Kumar play the female leads in the same. While Raja Deluxe is the rumoured title of the film, the makers are yet to officially confirm the news. TG Vishwa Prasad is reportedly bankrolling the film.
After the completion of Salaar, Adipurush, Raja Deluxe and Project K, Prabhas will move onto Spirit, a cop drama directed by Sandeep Reddy Vanga. The latter is currently helming Animal, a father-son drama starring Ranbir Kapoor, Rashmika Mandanna, Anil Kapoor and Bobby Deol in key roles. Prabhas’ Adipurush is expected to release in June 2023, though sources close to the team indicate the date may be pushed further.
Three older films of Prabhas including Rebel, Billa and Varsham re-released in theatres earlier in 2022. On November 11, 2022, Prabhas, with the release anniversary of his first film Eeswar, had completed two decades in the industry. Prabhas will next be making an appearance in the chat show Unstoppable with NBK, hosted by actor-politician Balakrishna.
