Radhe Shyam, starring Prabhas and Pooja Hedge, has been pirated online on the day of its release by Tamil Rockers, MovieRulz, iBomma, and other torrent sites. Radha Krishna Kumar's major pan-Indian film, produced by UV Creations and T-Series, has become the latest victim of online piracy. Radhe Shyam launched in theatres on March 11, and the film has generated a lot of discussion and high expectations.
The film, which is being released in various languages including Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, and Malayalam, is Prabhas' follow-up to Saaho, co-starring Shraddha Kapoor. The general mood in all of the regional and Hindi belts has been favourable, with audiences eager to return to the theatres as the COVID-19 restrictions have been lifted.
The film was shot extensively in Hyderabad, Turin, Italy, and Georgia, and it was produced on a large scale. The makers of Radhe Shyam pushed the film's release date back from July 30, 2021, to January 14, 2022, to avoid the COVID-19 outbreak affecting its box office receipts in India and around the world.
The Omicron variation, however, led them to push back the release date to March. According to rumours, an OTT company offered the film for roughly Rs 400 crores for direct-to-OTT distribution. The filmmakers, on the other hand, kept to their intention of making it a major theatrical premiere.
Radhe Shyam has been released online, and this will undoubtedly hurt the film's box office receipts. However, based on bookings in several locations, the picture is expected to remain steady at the box office. However, one has to see if it surpasses the box office success of previous South Indian films such as Pushpa and Valimai, or if it is as great a smash in the Hindi belt as Saaho.
As per reports in BollywoodLife, Radhe Shyam has grossed over Rs 200 crores in theatres throughout the world and might gross over Rs 320 crores in its theatrical run if the film is a blockbuster.
