Prabhas' Project K team wishes Amitabh Bachchan on his 80th birthday, says 'legends are immortal'

Amitabh Bachchan, who turns 80 today, made his Telugu cinema debut with the Chiranjeevi-headlined drama Sye Raa Narasimha Reddy a few years ago. Now, he's set to return to the industry for another huge pan-Indian film, tentatively titled Project K, headlined by Prabhas, Deepika Padukone and Disha Patani. Nag Ashwin is the director of the futuristic sci-fi saga bankrolled by the former's father-in-law and veteran producer Ashwini Dutt under Vyjayanthi Movies.

Commemorating Amitabh's birthday, the team of Project K wished the star and shared a special update from the film. “A powerhouse that has entertained for more than 5 decades! Can't wait to show the world the new avatar you've unleashed this time. Here's to the 80th & many more! May the force be with you always & you're the force behind us @SrBachchan sir - Team #ProjectK,” the social media post read. In the poster accompanied by the post, Amitabh shows his hand in a fist genture. 

Vyjayanthi Movies, the banner behind the film, which has completed 50 years in Telugu cinema, is in the middle of a glorious run in its second innings, with consistent successes like Yevade Subrahmanyam, Mahanati, Jathi Ratnalu and the recently released Sita Ramam. Before Project K, another film from the banner, the family entertainer Anni Manchi Sakunamule, directed by Nandini Reddy, starring Santosh Shobhan, Malvika Nair in the lead will hit screens this December.

Project K team has also roped in veteran filmmaker Singeetham Srinivasa Rao for his creative inputs with the script. Mickey J Meyer is composing the music for the film that's being made on a budget well over Rs 400 crore. The makers have also tied up with the Mahindra group to shoot key sequences from the film with their help last year. More details on the film are awaited.
