Telugu superstar Prabhas' upcoming film Salaar: Part 1 – Ceasefire is one of the most-awaited films of 2023. Judging from the growing anticipation for this film across the cinema halls in the country, Prabhas is poised to end the year on a fantastic note.

Homable Films, the production company behind Salaar, has disclosed the impressive number of advance tickets sold for its opening day across single-screen theatres in India. The tweet from the production house reads, "#Salaar Advance tickets booked (Approx.) in India as of 11:59 PM on 20-Dec-2023 for the first day (22-Dec-2023), excluding National Chain Multiplexes (PVR, INOX, Cinepolis): Andhra Pradesh: 13.25 Lakhs, Nizam (Telangana): 6 Lakhs, North India: 5.25 Lakhs, Karnataka: 3.25 Lakhs, Kerala: 1.5 Lakhs, Tamil Nadu: 1 Lakhs Total: 30.25 Lakh tickets sold all over India."

This announcement is deemed as a show of strength during ongoing negotiations between the producers and multiplex chains.

For those unfamiliar with the situation, the producers of Salaar expressed dissatisfaction with national multiplex chains regarding the allocation of screens. Industry sources suggest that multiplexes in the Hindi-speaking region showed a preference for giving more screens to Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan's Dunki, which impacted Salaar.

Reportedly displeased with this screen count disparity, the producers contemplated withdrawing Salaar from national multiplex chains across the country. Such a move would have caused significant disruptions during the holiday season, considering Salaar is one of the most significant releases this year.

However, it appears that the issues have been resolved amicably between the producers and cinema chains. Trade sources now indicate that Salaar has the potential to gross more than Rs 100 crore in worldwide ticket sales. The question arises: Can it surpass the coveted Rs 1000 crore mark at the box office by year-end? Based on the current trends, there is a strong possibility.

Written and directed by Prashanth Neel, the film also stars Prithviraj Sukumaran, Shruti Haasan, Jagapathi Babu, Bobby Simha, Tinnu Anand, Easwari Rao, Sriya Reddy and Ramachandra Raju.
