Over the last several days, the buzz on social media has been that the team of Prabhas’ Salaar: Ceasefire would release yet another trailer before the film hits theatres. Filmmaker Prashant Neel has not done something like that with his earlier films – KGF: Chapter 1 and 2, so some netizens took the information with a pinch of salt. The filmmaker had, after all, dropped a teaser, a trailer and a single too, so, another song was more likely, some thought. Turns out, the buzz was right after all. Prashant will present yet another trailer – the release trailer – on Sunday, December 17. Hombale Films is yet to confirm a time for the second trailer drop, though.

The release trailer of Salaar: Ceasefire will make it the second Prashant Neel presentation of the day. Tomorrow is actor Sriimurali’s birthday and Hombale Films, which is also producing his next film, Bagheera, will reveal its first teaser at 9.45 am. Bagheera is based on a script by Prashant, which is being directed by Dr Suri, as the former is currently busy with Salaar and has to also begin work on Jr NTR’s next. Prashant’s directorial debut Ugramm had Sriimurali in the lead. In fact, Salaar is widely believed to be a massively updated bigger and better version of Ugramm. So far, based on the trailer that’s come out, netizens remain convinced of this theory, as the film is about two friends who eventually become foes, as was the case in Ugramm with Sriimurali and Tilak’s characters.

Ugramm was a film that Prashant had produced himself, an experience that was quite difficult for him and took several years to complete. While the film didn’t make much money at the time, over the years, it acquired a cult status. During the promotions of KGF: Chapter 2, Prashant had said that his biggest learning from the making of Ugramm was that he should have made it with a bigger star and that is, supposedly, Salaar, which combines the plots of Ugramm and its proposed sequel, Ugramm Veeram.
