The Raja Saab, featuring Prabhas in the lead role, has been in the making for the last two years and was all set to hit the screens on December 5, 2025, in multiple languages. But we have now come to know that the film has been postponed, and the reports going around about the same are true.
The Raja Saab disappoints Prabhas fans
Well, we at OTTplay have learned that The Raja Saab will now release on January 9, 2026, as a Sankranthi special. The horror thriller will now take on Chiranjeevi's Mana Shankara Vara Prasad Garu and Naveen Polishetty's Anaganaga Oka Raju, which have also been locked for the same festive season.
TG Vishwa Prasad is the man behind the film, and he ran into financial issues, which is the reason the film was delayed time and again. On top of this, Prabhas also hurt his leg while shooting for his other film, Fauji. All this has delayed the film, and director Maruthi has been stuck with it for the last three years now.
The post-production has already begun, and two romantic songs are yet to be shot. As of now, Prabhas is busy shooting for Fauji, and once he is done with that, he will wrap up these two songs and then allot bulk dates to his new film, Spirit, to be directed by Sandeep Reddy Vanga.
Sanjay Dutt plays a key role in The Raja Saab
Sanjay Dutt plays a key role in this film, and he has been paid big bucks to play Prabhas' grandfather. On the other hand, Prabhas has only been doing back-to-back action dramas, and with The Raja Saab, he returns to the comedy genre after a long gap. The teaser, which was released on his birthday, won the hearts of many. Malavika Mohanan and Nidhhi Agerwal play the female leads.
