After helming two Malayalam movies with Amith Chakalakkal in the lead, Uppum Mulakum director SJ Sinu is all set to foray into the Tamil film industry with an entertainer starring Prabhu Deva.

A source from the film’s production house tells us, “The yet-to-be-titled movie will be an all-out entertainer. It has focus on music and dance, and is very much the kind of film that people expect from Prabhu Deva.”

The upcoming movie will be a straight Tamil film. On if it will also have a few Malayalam actors, the source says, “The casting of the movie is yet to be finalised.” The movie will be scripted by Dinil PK, who had also written Sinu’s latest directorial Theru. The movie will be produced by Jobi P Sam, who bankrolled Sinu’s previous two directorials – Djibouti and Theru. The film, which is set to be made on a big budget, is expected to go on floors by the end of June this year, says the source.

Prabhu Deva had recently choreographed a dance sequence for Manju Warrier’s Ayisha. In a recent interview, the actress, who was also part of Ajith Thunivu, said that she was reluctant to approach Prabhu Deva and didn’t even think that he would agree to choreograph in a Malayalam film as the industry might not be able to afford him. But to her surprise, he agreed instantly to come onboard and had worked with the team in Ras Al Khaimah for a few days to wrap up the song sequence for the Aamir Pallikkal film, which was also released in Arabic earlier this year.

Meanwhile, Prabhu Deva is also gearing up for the release of his 60th film Wolf, which is expected to hit theatres in March. The movie, which also has Anju Kurian, Raai Laxmi and Anasuya Bharadwaj, is helmed by Vinoo Venkatesh.
