Pradeep Bogadi, whose last release was the 2017 Tiger and was seen in a special number in Kiccha Sudeep’s Kotigobba 3, is ready to bring his next film to theatres. Initially planned for a 2021 release, the film, Yellow Board, written and directed by Trilok Reddy, had to be pushed ahead owing to logistic issues at first, and was then waiting for the right window. With Vikrant Rona pushed ahead from its February 25 date, and other big-ticket Telugu releases also coming to theatres only after Mid-march, it appears that the team of Yellow Board has now zeroed in a date. Pradeep’s film will be in theatres on March 4, according to the latest.
Speaking to us shortly after the announcement, Pradeep said that he was looking at going all out to promote the film over the next one month and make sure that his target audience is aware of it and the message behind it. “Yellow Board, as the title suggests is the story of a cab driver. But far from it being a personal tale, it is also about the community at large and how they should not be judged by any untoward incident involving maybe one or two members. For instance, if there is a crime committed by a cab driver, the whole community is put under the scanner, but if they do a good deed, it is not highlighted and is not reflective of all of them. The thing about cab drivers is that today, in Bengaluru, there are about 250 Hoysala patrol vehicles on our streets, so, if there is an issue and you call the control room, it could take them a minimum of 10 minutes to get to your location. On the other hand, the city has at least a lakh cabs on the road, and they may be closer to you should you need help. That is the message that we are trying to convey with this film,” says Pradeep.
The actor adds that as part of the promotional activities, the team is looking at releasing the title track of the film, which has been sung by the late Puneeth Rajkumar, on February 8, followed by the trailer on February 18. “We are also going to the length and breadth of the state and meeting members of various cab driver associations, among others,” he says.
