Pradeep Ranganathan to have festive release with Dude; LIK out of Diwali race for this reason

Director Pradeep Ranganathan who is having a fabulous run as actor with films such as Love Today and Dragon, is currently working on two films; Love Insurance Kompany, and Dude. Incidentally, both these films have announced for a theatrical release for the occasion of Diwali. However, it looks like Love Insurance Kompany will not be joing the race for the festive season, given the makers laying low on the film promotions. 

LIK or Dude: Which Pradeep Ranganathan film to release for Diwali?

Both Love Insurance Kompany and Dude have locked their dates as October 17 for Diwali. Pradeep Ranganathan had earlier said that only one out of the two will see Diwali release. As per the buzz, Love Insurance Kompany aka LIK will be dropping out of the race. 

Given the film makers are yet to lock the OTT deal, and the promotions of the film has not begn with only 3 weeks left to go, it is safe to assume that LIK is out. It is being reported that the makers of LIK are in talks with Prime Video for OTT rights, and the film will only see theatrical release sometime in late November or early next year. However, on the other hand, the makers of Dude are strong on reiterating October 17 release. Two songs from the album are already out, and have gone viral.

The makers of LIK are yet to officially confirm the new release date.

Dude is directed by debutant Kirteeswaran and stars Mamitha Baiju as female lead, along with Sarathkumar, Hridhu Haroon and others. Sai Abhyankkar is scoring the music. The plot of the film has not been revealed.

Meanwhile, LIK is a futuristic set romantic drama, starring Krithi Shetty, SJ Suryah, Seeman, Gouri Kishan and others. It is directed by Vignesh Shivan and has music by Anirudh Ravichander.
