Prajwal Devaraj to play a cop in Meghana Raj Sarja's comeback thriller

Meghana Raj Sarja is all set to make a grand comeback with a lead role in newbie Vishal's upcoming directorial. Touted as a bona fide thriller, the film has been produced by Meghana and Chiranjeevi Sarja's close pal Pannaga Bharana. According to the latest reports, the team has added to its cast with another of Meghana Raj Sarja's close friends, Prajwal Devaraj, playing a small but key role in the untitled project.

The reports reveal that Prajwal Devaraj will don the cop avatar once again for the comeback project and that he has already completed shooting for his portions. Details of the storyline or those of the other cast and crew of the film remain a secret but Meghana Raj Sarja, by her own admission, was quite impressed with the script and chose it to be her comeback outing. In a previous interview, she shared that Pannaga Bharana implored her to read the script and nudged her towards acting. Pannaga Bharana, known for directing films like Happy New Year and French Biriyani, makes his debut as a producer with this film.

Prajwal Devaraj will also be seen playing a police officer in Lohith's intense action thriller Mafia. His line-up of films includes Hariprasad Jakka's Gana and Khadar Kumar's Veeram.

Born to actor Sundar Raj and Pramila Joshai, Meghana Raj Sarja began her acting career with the 2009 film Bendu Apparao R.M.P and quickly found herself attracting offers from all four south Indian film industries. Her prominence though was achieved in the Malayalam film industry with films like Beautiful, Namukku Parkkan, Memories, etc. before venturing into Kannada cinema. Some of her popular Kannada credits include Raja Huli, Aatagara, Kurukshetra, and her most recent release, Selfie Mummy Google Daddy.

Meghana Raj married Chiranjeevi Sarja on May 2, 2018. Tragically, Chiranjeevi Sarja succumbed to a cardiac arrest on June 7, 2020, when they were expecting their first child. Meghana gave birth to Raayan Raj Sarja on October 22, 2020.
