Earlier today, the team of Dynamic Prince Prajwal Devaraj’s next, Veeram, revealed its release date. The film, directed by Khadar Kumar and produced by Shashidhar KM, has Prajwal paired with Rachita Ram and will, according to today’s announcement hit theatres on May 6. This is Prajwal’s first film with Kannada cinema’s Dimple Queen.

Although not much is known about Veeram, based on a teaser the team had released earlier, it appears that it is a commercial entertainer with mass elements with some hardcore action. Prajwal’s rugged long-haired and bearded look was for Veeram, which was shot during the pandemic last year. Prajwal will be pitted against Deepak (of Shishya fame), who plays the antagonist in the film.

Prajwal, who ended 2021 with the release of Arjun Gowda, produced by the late Ramu, has been busy shooting for his next, Mafia, which is being directed by Lohith H. The actor is playing a cop in the film, with his character described as the devil that the demons are fighting. Prajwal is paired with Aditi Prabhudeva in the film. After Mafia, the actor is committed to a crime thriller called Gana in which he will team up with Vedhika. To be directed by Telugu filmmaker Hari Prasad Jakka, Gana will be the actor’s next, after which he will probably begin work on his film with friend and director Pannaga Bharana, which will be produced by Rajshri Ponnappa.

Veeram will, in all likelihood, be Prajwal’s first release for the year, unless, of course, the makers of his film Abbara, which is also ready, decide to bring it to theatres earlier. Directed by K Ram Narayan, Abbara is a commercial entertainer in which Prajwal will sport five different looks. The film has Rajshri, Nimika Ratnakar and Lekha Chandra opposite the actor.
