The popular Malayalam movie Prakambanam, a horror comedy set in a college hostel, has made its OTT premiere. The movie, which was a surprise hit at the Kerala box office, is now streaming on Zee5 via OTTplay Premium.
Prakambanam is a 2026 horror comedy, starring young actors Ganapathi of Manjummel Boys fame, Sagar Surya, and Al Ameen in the lead roles. Helmed by Vijesh Panathur, Prakambanam landed on ZEE5 on March 13, 2026.

The platform had confirmed that the digital rights were acquired and would be streaming the Malayalam flick soon but no release date announcement was made. But, around 10pm on Friday, the film was dropped online. OTTplay Premium subscribers can also watch the fun horror comedy entertainer right now. The Malayalam film is only available in its original language on the platforms with English subtitles.
Written by Sreehari Vadakkan, the plot of Prakambanam revolves around three college students Sidhu, Shankaran, and Punyalan who are leading a carefree life. But all that gets upended when Punyalan gets possessed by the spirit of an elderly woman, sparking chaotic yet humorous events. How the youngsters handles the unpredictable situation is explored in the movie.

Devoid of a star cast, Prakambanam had hit theatres on January 30 without much pre-release hype. Though the film garnered mixed reviews from critics, it slowly began to win traction, thanks to positive word of mouth and surprisingly performed well at the box office.
Prakambanam had released in theatres along with the thriller movie Valathu Vashathe Kallan, helmed by Dirshyam 3 director Jeethu Joseph. The film, starring actors Biju Menon and Joju George, had a lacklustre run at the box office and is yet to announce its OTT partner.
While Sagar Surya, Ganapathi, and Al Ameen appear in the lead roles, senior actress Mallika Sukumaran plays the grandmother which many said was perfect casting. They were well supported by Azees Nedumangad, Rajesh Madhavan, (late actor) Kalabhavan Navas, Alexander Prasanth, and PP Kunhikrishnan.
