Jeethu Joseph's thriller Valathu Vashathe Kallan and the Malayalam horror comedy Prakambanam were launched in theatres on January 30. Three youngsters named Jithu, Punyalan, and Sagar juggle with the turmoil of student life and campus politics. Because his father and uncle are atheists who reject such customs, Jithu brings in some of his strict and pious grandmother's ashes to his hostel to carry out the salvation ceremonies after she passes away. However, things take a funny turn when Punyalan sniffs these ashes and is possessed by the ghost of Jithu's grandmother.

Ameen, Sagar Surya, and Ganapathi play the lead roles in this scary comedy. Prakambanam is directed by Vijesh Panathur. The late actor Kalabhavan Navaz, Gayathri Satheesh, Anagha Ajith, Azeez Nedumangad, P P Kunjikrishnan, and Mallika Sukumaran are also featured in the film.
