Prakash Jha is not working on Rajneeti 2 despite having the film's script ready for THIS reason

Rumours of a sequel to Prakash Jha's hit political drama Raajneeti have been circulating for some time. It appears that even though the script is complete to go, the filmmaker is hesitant about filming it. In an interview with BollywoodLife, the director said that a sequel to the Ranbir Kapoor and Katrina Kaif starrer is in the works, with the plot already written. However, considering India's present political environment, he has concerns about making the film.

Jha's popular web series Aashram has made the headlines since its debut two years back. The online series' first two seasons got immensely popular, while, Aashram is set to return for a third season on the streaming platform MX Player.

Bobby Deol plays a self-proclaimed godman who conceals his unlawful actions behind the mask of a renowned organization in the web series. Aashram has garnered positive reviews from critics, and the public has found the act to be engaging.

The ace filmmaker has been working on season 3 of Aashram for the past few years. However, it appears that he will begin working on other ventures soon. Jha revealed the sequel to Raajneeti in an exclusive conversation with BollywoodLife.

Jha said that the writing for Raajneeti 2 was finished, but indicated that he is uncertain about moving further. He looks forward to learning. Raajneeti is one of the subjects where the other portion has already been written. But, there have been so many changes in politics since the screenplay was written, so perhaps, he is not sure. He had been researching some new topics, Jha described.

Through successful films like Satyagraha, Gangaajal, Apaharan, and Raajneeti, Prakash Jha has built up a large audience. As a follow-up to his blockbuster hit Gangaajal, Jha created Jai Gangaajal. His admirers have been asking if he will make a follow-up to the Ranbir Kapoor-starrer Raajneeti since the release of Jai Gangaajal, according to an article from News18.

Raajneeti, which features Nana Patekar, Ajay Devgn, Manoj Bajpayee, Katrina Kaif, and Arjun Rampal in addition to Ranbir Kapoor, is available to stream on Netflix.
